Historic Rural Churches of Georgia has netted its 5th book award for 2017! HRCGA is pleased to announce that the book received the LoPresti Publication Award in the Scholarly Publication category given by ARLIS. The Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA) is the largest international professional organization devoted to art librarianship. The scholarly publication award received is named for Mary Ellen LoPresti, the esteemed Design Librarian at North Carolina State University. The Southeast Chapter of ARLIS established the publication award competition in 1985 to recognize and encourage excellence in arts publications. Co-authors Sonny Seals and George Hart, ecstatic over the reception of the book this year, were honored to receive the prestigious LoPresti Award. Seals commented, “George and I continue to be gratified by the success of our book. This is a tribute to our skillful team of photographers who have devoted hundreds of hours to the project, and to all of our wonderful volunteers who believe in our mission of Research, Documentation and Preservation of these old treasures.” From everyone at HRCGA, we would like to thank you for your continued support and active following of the project!
