Historic Rural Churches of Georgia: The Books
OWN A PIECE OF HISTORY!
Historic Rural Churches of Georgia
VOLUME I
When George Hart and I started our journey years ago, we had no idea what we would discover, but we hoped to somehow raise awareness of these historic structures and the under-told stories they represent. We soon realized these treasures were the very heart of the rural communities that thrived in 19th century Georgia. We were examining Southern history from an entirely new perspective. This became the foundation of Historic Rural Churches of Georgia, now in its fourth printing.
More Historic Rural Churches of Georgia
VOLUME II
After many requests, we are now publishing More Historic Rural Churches of Georgia, which explores additional aspects of 19th-century Georgia history that have emerged as a result of our ongoing research. We believe that to truly understand America’s journey from its beginnings to the present, we must understand Southern history – and that history is predominantly rural. This volume includes special emphasis on white and Black church history before and after Emancipation, with a foreword by Ambassador Andrew Young, reflecting on the central role of the rural Black church in his life.
